IESCO Tariff Guide 2025

Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) supplies electricity to Islamabad and many nearby areas. Every month, the bill you receive is based on the NEPRA tariff. This tariff is the price for each unit (kWh) of electricity that you use.

The same basic unit rates are also applied to other government electricity companies, such as:
IESCO, LESCO, GEPCO, FESCO, MEPCO, PESCO, HAZECO, SEPCO, QESCO, and TESCO. Your final bill may change because of fuel price adjustment (FPA), quarterly charges, TV fee, taxes, and any old balance, but the starting point is this NEPRA tariff.

NEPRA Tariff Rates Categorized

Residential Tariff (A-1)

a) Sanctioned Load up to 5 kW

Protected Consumers

  • 0 to 50 units (Life Line): Rs 3.95 /kWh
  • 1 to 100 units (Life Line): Rs 7.74 /kWh
  • 101 to 200 units: Rs 14.16 /kWh

Un-Protected Consumers

  • 1 to 100 units: Rs 23.59 /kWh
  • 101 to 200 units: Rs 30.07 /kWh
  • 201 to 300 units: Rs 34.26 /kWh
  • 301 to 400 units: Rs 39.15 /kWh
  • 401 to 500 units: Rs 41.36 /kWh
  • 501 to 600 units: Rs 42.78 /kWh
  • 601 to 700 units: Rs 43.92 /kWh
  • Above 700 units: Rs 48.84 /kWh

b) Sanctioned Load above 5 kW (Time of Use)

  • Peak hours: Rs 48.00 /kWh
  • Off-peak hours: Rs 41.68 /kWh

c) Pre-paid Residential Supply Tariff

  • Rs 49.98 /kWh

If no units are used in a month, Rs 2,000 per consumer

Protected consumers are small home users who use fewer units and meet the government rules for subsidy. They pay lower unit rates. Unprotected consumers use more units or do not meet those rules, so they pay higher unit rates.

Yes. There is a separate commercial rate for electric vehicle charging stations, with its own per-unit price.

The basic tariff is the slab-wise unit rates listed above. Your final bill also includes taxes, fuel price adjustment, TV fee, and other charges.

Industrial users pay the industrial tariff, which includes flat and time-of-use rates. These rates stay in place until NEPRA issues a new tariff decision.
